Fathers & Sons

How happy is the man who does not follow the advice of the wicked or take the path of sinners or join a group of mockers!– Psalm 1:1

Taste and see that the Lord is good. How happy is the man who takes refuge in Him!– Psalm 34:8

Happy is one who cares for the poor; the Lord will save him in a day of adversity.– Psalm 41:1 Therefore, the Lord is waiting to show you mercy, and is rising up to show you compassion, for the Lord is a just God. All who wait patiently for Him are happy.– Isaiah 30:18 The kind, clear instruction from the Lord on how to live is another perfect facet of His grace to those who trust Him. Desperate folks jump from fad to fad, website to website, best seller to best seller, how to guide to how to guide, all in pursuit of happiness. Our God is timeless and perfect in His written word and His kindness. He understands the drives and needs and questions of man millennia after millennia over time. For the man of old and the man of today, and sons of the man being raised today, our Father God provides the answers. As a father teaches and counsels his son on how to be a man, our God teaches us to look to Him and His instruction. He wants what is best for His children. He teaches us to look to His written word, the Holy Scriptures as our refuge of truth in a world of arguments, agendas, philosophies, narratives, myths, and lies. A good father in turn teaches his son to look to God and to God’s word for all that will ever make him happy and all that will forever instruct Him all righteousness and goodness that reflect the nature and the glory of the boy’s Creator. “Listen, Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is One. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.– Deuteronomy 6:4-7
