Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically, as something done for the Lord and not for men, knowing that you will receive the reward of an inheritance from the Lord. You serve the Lord Christ. – Colossians 3:23-24
Don’t work only while being watched, in order to please men, but as slaves of Christ, do God’s will from your heart. Serve with a good attitude, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that whatever good each one does, slave or free, he will receive this back from the Lord. – Ephesians 6:6-8
The worker’s, the parent’s, the athlete’s and the minister’s blessing of being in Christ is that everything we do is now of the greatest value and worth. Everything you do is seen and weighed - and when done in faith, it will be found to be good and worthy of reward.
Christians know who they truly serve. We know that no faithful work or effort in a believer is ever wasted or done in vain or squandered. When our bodies and mind are focused on serving the Lord, all the frustrations, all the wasted time and the vain efforts are no more.
No lousy boss, no ungrateful neighbor, no bad coach, no business deal gone bad – nothing and no one in this world can deny you the assured satisfaction and the accruing eternal reward being prepared for you when you are working as servant for the King of kings.
God gives us time in this world to use the talents, strengths, and intellect He formed us with to show His glory in His creation of us as His people. Thus, we press forward with intensity and enthusiasm in our study, work, serving, and training to carry out what He’s instructed since He first formed us in the garden.
For our God, we are the worker, the servant, and the watchman.
Let’s get to it.
The Lord God took the man and placed him in the garden of Eden to work it and watch over it. – Genesis 2:15
